The Educational Foundation & Home Visits

The Educational Foundation is responsible for the Annual Fund Drive, Annual Moondance Auction, and the Capital Campaign. It also provides a tax-deductible vehicle for school donations.

The board consists of parents, community members, administrators, and faculty members who volunteer their time to fundraise for the school. Melissa Seibold coordinates most Foundation activities, interfaces with the school community, and generally keeps all the volunteers on track. In addition, Vitskaia Fernandes does a great job performing all the bookkeeping activities. That said, there is an enormous amount of work to be done. If you have a few extra hours per week, please contact the Development Office about how you might get involved.

Volunteers are needed to coordinate alumni activities, to help decorate the Development Office, and to assist with the Capital Campaign.

Currently, the board is coming together with other members of the school community to prepare for HOME VISITS with YRCS families. Each family is offered an opportunity to participate and contribute to this very important information gathering, sharing and education opportunity.

The purpose of the HOME VISIT is to interview parents about the school's strengths and challenges and to request financial support for the Capital Campaign. The HOME VISIT provides a confidential environment for parents to ask questions about giving to the campaign and an opportunity to tell us how the school is doing. All interview sheets will be assigned a number so no one beyond the interviewers will know who gave the answers. Confidentiality is our primary guiding principle. If you prefer not to discuss your pledge during the visit, you may submit your pledge card to the interviewers in a sealed envelope to be given to Melissa Seibold. Those of us conducting the home visits are volunteering our time to support the building of the new school. We ask for your involvement in this process and appreciate the time and input you will provide.

We recognize that giving during these trying economic times may be a challenge. Please know that we hold every contribution in high regard. Our participation will vest each of us in achieving the goal.
